SCADA, PPC and EMS: Which System Does Your Plant Need?
Separate supervision, connection-point control and energy scheduling before selecting a hybrid plant architecture.

Separate supervision, connection-point control and energy scheduling before selecting a hybrid plant architecture.
SCADA: observe and operate
SCADA acquires signals, displays equipment states and supports operator commands and alarms. Define permitted commands, interlocks and local/remote authority explicitly.
PPC: control the connection point
PPC coordinates active and reactive power using measurements and plant/grid instructions. Confirm the feedback point, control hierarchy, response requirements, source limits and communication-loss behaviour.
EMS: schedule energy within operating limits
EMS plans energy use or dispatch using forecasts, storage constraints and operating objectives. Its schedules must respect PPC and equipment limits. Ask which scheduling objectives and storage interfaces are included rather than relying on the EMS label.
Procurement and acceptance checklist
Request a responsibility diagram, interface register, setpoint ownership, failure-state matrix and joint acceptance scenarios. Include grid-instruction changes, unavailable sources, meter failure and recovery. Confirm which functions Enlogy delivers and which remain in existing systems.
